THE OM SHANTI OM HYPOTHESIS

The movie Om Shanti Om is a true masala film. The core thought of the film is "When you want something deeply from your heart, the entire universe works and helps to make you achieve it". A very beautiful thought indeed.

I think thats why I like fiction. Its so interestingly different from reality. And it gives birth to non fiction. Flying was fiction today a reality. There are many more things that one can write on.

But thats the beauty of fiction. Thats the craft of the filmmaker or the writer who can convince you of something that you yourself have not experienced with your five senses. But you are mesmerised for a few hours.

I think thats what makes superman, spider man and batman so interesting. Thats what makes Disney cartoons so interesting. that makes reading Ludlum so interesting. Thats what makes Bond so kewl.

I think its a very beautifully made film. really loved it.

Hi Tilak

Agree with your thought. Though i will admit that I was disappointed at the lack of originality of screenplay. I think the only original thing Farah Khan did was to copy-paste scenes from different movies like Karz and Madhumati and put it together as OSO. However everything said and done it was a good effort and paisa vasool (though I must admist I saw it on a CD). Also the fact that they made Paulo Coelho's line about the universe from Alchemist the central thought and wove a 3 hr. movie around it is commendable.

Hi Tilak..I wont comment on the film...though as there was nothing original..a blatant remake of Karz..the same old beaten path..the reincarnation script..this is fiction..YES..

However the quote you mentioned “When you want something, all the world conspires in helping you to

(which was pickedup from the book 'The Alchemist')
I find this thought absolutely exhilarating & electrifying!

This however is not Fiction...Ever heard of beginners luck..?I experienced it..I remember the first time I learned to play Poker. My elder cousins tought the game...You know I got all three AAA's in the first game..Now many would call this coincedence...I call this a conspiracy of the universe that is trying its best to make you win..there is a field..a hidden force out there that wants you to win.
